Bookings of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift have commenced across the country with test drives scheduled to commence soon. The hatchback gets updated features, while the prices have seen a marginal increase of around Rs. 2000-3000/- depending on the variant.
With the 2014 Maruti Suzuki Swift just weeks away from launch, the price and variant details of the facelifted model have been leaked online along with other vital information of the hatchback. Available with the existing petrol and diesel engine options, the Swift facelift has now been tuned to offer improved fuel efficiency with the B-segment hatchback returning 20.5 km/l (current model returns 18.6 km/l) on the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 25.2 km/l (current model returns 22.9 km/l) on the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor. A significant upgrade over the current version, the new Swift facelift comes with minimal changes to the exterior, while the interiors come with a plethora of features on-board.
LXi/LDi – On the outside, the new Maruti Swift facelift gets a revised front bumper with wider air intakes. The L-shaped brushed silver strip seen on the higher variants has been omitted, but the cabin gets height adjustable driver’s seat as standard across all trims.
VXi/VDi – The mid-level variant gets the revised bumper, new L-shaped silver strips around the fog lamp as well as newly designed wheel covers. On the inside, the Swift facelift gets updated with some much needed equipment including electrical folding ORVMs, new dashboard integrated audio system with speed sensing auto-sound as well as Anti-Lock Braking Systems (ABS). There is also a new LXi option (O) variant that has been added to the list.
ZXi/ZDi – Including the features from the mid-level variants, the top-end trim gets push-start button, steering mounted audio controls, keyless entry, new 12-spoke alloy wheels as well as dual front airbags and reverse parking sensors. However cruise control and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) aren’t present.
