Yamaha R25 Spy Shot Rear Foot Peg

Few days after the first spy images of the Yamaha R25 were snapped in Indonesia, more spy shots pour in that reveal the side profile and several other details of the quarter-litre sports bike that will make its debut later this year. The images carried on Indonesian website TMCblog.com give us a fair idea as to how the production spec Yamaha R25 will look like, along with a list of changes that the bike will sport.

To begin with, the Yamaha R25 will get a digital speedometer with white backlight and a hexagonal shaped analogue tachometer with a white backlight tachometer needle. The R25 will get a pilot light like the R6 at the front, positioned between the split headlamps. The bike will sport a 140 cross-section tyre at the rear with black rear brake callipers. The R25 will also feature an LED tail light cluster. True to the concept showcased last year, the production spec model features a sharply styled front cowl with sharp lines running across the bike.

The Yamaha R25 will be powered by a 250cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder motor that will be tuned to produce around 34 PS of power. A 250cc single-cylinder motor is also said to be in the works for cost sensitive markets like ours and will be priced more competitively. The Yamaha R25 will use a tubular frame and will get rear foot pegs and clip-on handlebars. The motorcycle will be competing against the Honda CBR250R, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the upcoming KTM RC 390 in the very aggressive quarter-litre segment.
