The Volkswagen Jetta facelift gets mild cosmetic tweaks for a more premium appeal along with improved interiors for the 2015 model year.
Ahead of its scheduled launch on 17th February, prices for the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta facelift have been leaked online spilling all the beans. Compared to the outgoing version, prices for the new Jetta have seen an upward revision of prices for the petrol version increased by Rs. 42,000/- across all variants while the diesel engined version has seen a hike by Rs. 35,000 – 42,000/- spread across different variants.
Infusing some fresh appeal in the potent D-segment sedan, the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta gets mild tweaks to the exterior including new revised bumpers, wider chrome grille, revised LED DRLs integrated in the headlight cluster as well as new LED tail lights with a more Audi-like appeal. On the inside, the Jetta takes cues from smaller Volkswagen’s and gets a flat bottom steering wheel, an updated touchscreen infotainment system, revised instrument cluster and new materials on the dashboard.
In terms of powertrain, the existing engines remain unaffected with the 1.4-litre 4-cylinder TSI petrol motor producing 122 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque and the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine tuned to generate 140 PS and 320 Nm of torque. Both the engines come paired to a 6-speed manual transmission; whereas the diesel trim is also offered with a 6-speed DSG automatic transmission. With the updated looks, the Jetta will be competing against the segment leading Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Elantra, Renault Fluence and the likes in the segment.

Update – Volkswagen has got in touch with us stating that these prices aren’t true and the prices of the new Jetta will be announced on the 17th of February at the launch of the vehicle.
