The Yamaha R1M is a more track focused version of the R1 that gets the same 998cc crossplane 4-cylinder, 4-valve engine churning out 200 PS at 13,500 RPM and 112.4 Nm at 11,500 RPM, mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. It comes with Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) that adapts to the conditions. Other electronics on the R1M includes Slide Control System, Traction Control System, Front Lift Control System, Launch Control System and Quick Shift System. One thing that sets the R1M apart from the regular R1 externally is the carbon bodywork on the former. It gets lightweight carbon bodywork which is inspired by the Yamaha M1. Both the bikes have a beautiful design language and look aggressive with the distinctively styled front cowl and hidden LED headlamps.
