Toyota Motors Philippines Corporation has launched a special edition of the Innova on the occasion of crossing one million sales figure since it began operations.

Toyota Innova One Million Sales Edition
The new paint job is the most obvious change on the old Innova

In a time span of 26 years, Toyota Motors Philippines has crossed the one million sales mark in the country. To mark the occasion, the company has launched a special edition of its popular MPV, the Innova. It gets a few changes to differentiate it from the other Innovas plying on the road. This special edition has been named the ‘1 Million Sales Edition’ to highlight the occasion. Mechanically the vehicle remains exactly the same and gets a couple of changes to the interiors and exteriors.

The most obvious and striking change is the Jade Green metallic paint job which looks like no other Innova and is a special edition paint. A rear spoiler is another change to the MPV along with a 1M badge on the bootlid indicating that this a special edition. Interiors get only one change which comes in the form of a navigation system and is a welcome change. These changes come with a slight increase in price and customers will have to spend around Rs. 21,000/- over the cost of the normal variant to lay their hands on this one.

Mechanically, the Toyota Innova special edition remains the same. It is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine or a 2.5-litre diesel engine which come with a choice of a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmissions. The next generation Innova is under testing currently and will be launched in late 2015 or early 2016 globally. It is supposed to get radically different styling than the current one and will be based on the new IMV platform drawing power from a new 2.4-litre diesel engine. With many features to be added, the new Innova won’t come cheap.
