Changes are subtle on the 2016 Hunk with new headlight & revised styling

Hero MotoCorp’s fairly popular 150cc motorcycle out of the three on sale, the Hunk has been silently updated for the 2016 model year and just got listed on the automaker’s website ahead of the official launch. Keeping things relevant amidst new and improved competition, the 2016 Hero Hunk facelift gets a host of upgrades to the exterior while the engine now makes more power much to our happiness.

On the outset, the 2016 Hero Hunk retains the overall styling from the outgoing version but gets subtle changes all around including the black paint scheme to the lower part of the motorcycle. Most prominently, the Hunk facelift gets new headlights, an updated instrument cluster with side stand indicator and a revised saree guard and crash guard. There are new protruding fuel tank scoops on either side now with air vents. Other cycle parts including the tail lights, indicators, rear view mirrors remain the same.

In terms of power, the Hero Hunk facelift has been updated with a 150cc air-cooled single-cylinder unit that is now tuned to produce 15.6 BHP of power at 8500 RPM and 13.50 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. Other mechanical bits remain the same with a telescopic unit at the front and a twin shock setup at the rear while braking performance comes from double discs available as optional.

Also new on the 2016 Hero Hunk are the colour options inclusive of Bold Brown, Blazing red, Panther black, Matte black, Ebony grey and Force silver. The metallic colours add a premium touch to the bike and compliment the all black lower body colour scheme well. The new Hunk has already arrived at showrooms hinting towards an imminent launch and we expect the automaker to make an announcement very soon. The Hero Hunk will be rivalling a host of offerings in the segment ranging from the Suzuki Gixxer, Bajaj Pulsar 150, Yamaha FZ-S as well as the upcoming Honda CB Hornet 160R.
