Japanese automaker Toyota has revealed a picture of the front fascia of the upcoming second generation Innova and the vehicle seems to have got a lot of changes.
The second generation Toyota Innova can possibly be one of the most anticipated vehicles from the past couple of years. The new generation of the MPV is going to make its first ever public debut at the Jakarta Motor Show starting from 23rd November. The Japanese carmaker has now released a teaser of sorts and has tweeted an image of the front fascia of the MPV. The picture shows the significant changes that have been made to the front of the vehicle.
As we can see, the headlights, grille and bumper are completely new. The fog lamps have also got a major redesign. The grille has grown much bigger in size while the headlamps are double barrel units. The side profile and the rear fascia haven’t been revealed yet but it is clear that the entire vehicle will have nothing in common with the outgoing generation. Even in terms of interiors and features, the new Innova is surely going to be a massive improvement over the present model.
The 2016 Toyota Innova will be offered in the following trims – G, V and Q. The India-bound model will make use of a 2.4-litre diesel engine producing 147 HP of power and 360 Nm of torque. The Innova will be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission and even a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The same engine will also power the next generation Toyota Fortuner. In global markets, the Innova also gets a petrol engine.
Toyota might showcase the next generation Innova in India at the 2016 Auto Expo while it will be launched only in end-2016 or early-2017. The current Innova has been a hot-seller throughout its life span and it continues to remain a favourite with cabbies and private buyers alike. Even after the launch of the new model, the present model will be available in certain variants, catering to the commercial market only.
