The Yamaha Fazer 250 has been spotted undergoing testing for the first time.
When Yamaha launched the FZ25 in India earlier this year, it generated a lot of excitement and the bike was positively received by the market. Speculations about a fully-faired version of the FZ25 were rife and now the Fazer 250 has been spotted on our roads, undergoing testing rounds.
The Yamaha Fazer 250 will come with a dual headlamp set-up and the fairing will give the bike a sportier appeal. It will continue to come with split seats and the side panels on the bike are also likely to be the same as the FZ25. The bike will get telescopic front forks along with an adjustable monoshock.
The size of the discs will be 282 mm and 220 mm at the front and rear respectively. The tyres are likely to be 110 section and 140 section at the front and rear respectively. Powering the bike will be the same 249cc, 2-valve, oil-cooled engine that churns out 21 PS and 20.9 Nm, mated to a 5-speed transmission.
Due to the additional weight of the fairing, the bike will be heavier by 7-8 kgs. The launch time frame for the Fazer 250 isn’t clear yet but we expect the Japanese firm to launch the bike during the festive season this year, with ex-showroom prices hovering around Rs. 1.30 lakhs. The Yamaha Fazer 250 will rival the KTM RC 200.
