The Hero Xtreme 200s launch will take place two years after it was unveiled.

Hero MotoCorp has turned its focus towards the 150cc and plus segment. The company already has three products in the 150cc segment, the Hunk, Achiever 150 i3S and Xtreme. According to sources, Hero will be entering the 250cc and plus market where currently Royal Enfield owns the bigger share of the pie. Currently, Hero is gearing up to enter the 200cc segment with its Xtreme 200S that is scheduled for launch in early 2018.

The Hero Xtreme 200S gets a 200cc 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 18.34 HP of power and 17.2 Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. There’s no fuel injection (FI), the Xtreme manages with a carburetter. There are DRLs also on the equipment list. For the second time, a Hero motorcycle comes equipped with a rear mono-shock suspension. Hero is also offering ABS as an option.

Braking duties are via discs both at the front as well as the rear. We expect the Hero Xtreme 200S to come with a price tag of Rs. 90,000/- to a lakh.
