The much anticipated affordable motorcycles from BMW Motarrad will finally break cover on 18th July, 2018. One of these is the BMW G310R that has got a mild 2019 model year update globally. This update is limited to the colour option as BMW Motorrad has introduced a new red colour scheme along with a white colour option with HP decals. The same is expected to be launched in India on 18th July.

Alongside the G310R, BMW will be launching the G310 GS as well. Both the bikes will use the same 313cc engine that produces 34 HP at 9500 RPM and 28.47 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM. Transmission duties will be performed by a 6-speed gearbox. While the G310R is designed for open roads, the G310 GS will be for the more adventurous riders and will help them ride over undulating roads with ease. The GS variant is expected to have a thicker, off-road capable rubber to achieve this.

The specification sheets of both the bikes match with the bikes that were showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. This means that the bikes will have a fully digital instrument console, dual channel ABS, USD forks and a mono shock suspension. There is one change though. BMW for some reason has decided to dump the Strato Blue metallic paint in favour of the new red colour scheme. A probable reason for this can be that BMW wants the metallic blue colour to be exclusive to its much more expensive litre-class bikes.

BMW has taken a good amount of time to develop and test these bikes along with TVS. Enough has been said and written about these motorcycles already. Date of unveiling is out and the specifications known. The only thing that remains to be seen is how the company will price the two bikes. The dream of a middle-class Indian to own a BMW will soon become a reality.
