BS6 compliant Maruti Swift has been launched with updated safety features as well.

Maruti Swift Review
The Swift gets updated safety features along with BS6 compliant engine

The industry leader, Maruti Suzuki has taken a bold step and has introduced BS6 compliant Swift ahead of the April, 2020 deadline. Not only this, the carmaker has updated the safety features of the hatchback in this update. The prices have been increased and the Swift now retails from Rs. 5.14 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The 1.2-litre K12B petrol engine has been updated to comply with the BS6 norms. However, the 1.3-litre diesel hasn’t been updated since the small oil burner will be phased out soon. The updated 1.2-litre petrol continues to deliver the same power output of 83 HP and 113 Nm of torque. Offers the same fuel efficiency of 22 km/l.

Previously the Maruti Swift was offered with dual front airbags, ABS and EBD and driver-side seatbelt reminder as standard across all trims. With this update, Maruti Suzuki is offering co-driver seatbelt reminder, speed alert system and rear parking sensors as standard across all the variants.

The base LXi variant of the Swift is now around Rs. 15,000/- more expensive compared to the outgoing model.
