India’s 3rd largest 2-wheeler company Bajaj is geared up to launch high-end KTM models, a new Dominar and Pulsar models strapped with BS6 engines for the next 18 months starting 1st April 2020. The company has also introduced an all-new brand Urbanite along with its first electric offering, the Chetak electric scooter.

With the exception of a couple of launches until FY20-end, there will be no other launches by Bajaj Auto.

Starting from November, Bajaj will begin switching to BS6 emission norms from the present BS4 along with the production of new BS6 models. The company is holding new BS6 product launches as it doesn’t want them to compete with heavily discounted BS4 models at present.

Swedish dirt bike brand, Husqvarna will be powered by a common engine and will be based on a common vehicle platform developed by Bajaj Auto and KTM engineers. The platform and engines are also used by bikes of Bajaj Auto and KTM. The Vitpilen 401 and the Svartpilen 401 will be the first Husqvarnas to debut in our country.

Bajaj claimed to have a retail market share of 20% by the end of September when the 2-wheeler industry was shaken by a cumulative 25% decline.
