Hyundai Tucson Facelift Specs
New Tucson gets a redesigned front end

The 2020 Hyundai Tucson has been launched through a virtual event with a starting price of Rs. 22.30 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Although it was planned to be launched in March, arrival of the dreaded COVID-19 meant plans were postponed. It was first unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo.

The facelifted model has been launched in two variants – GL and GLS and sports changes inside and out.

On the outside, the 2020 Hyundai Tucson comes with a new cascading chrome grille, LED headlights, LED DRLs and a new front bumper.

The side profile remains the same, save for the 18-inch alloys, while roof rails are offered as well. At the back, new LED taillights and a redesigned bumper complete the changes in comparison to the pre-facelift model.

The interior of the SUV has also seen several changes. The dashboard has seen a complete redesign and so has the centre console.

A floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes centre stage and will come with Hyundai’s Blue Link connected car technology. It supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

While the driver’s instrument panel has also been tweaked, the multi-function steering wheel continues to house several controls in the Hyundai Tucson.

The front seats are electric and ventilated, while other features offered are wireless smartphone charging, rain-sensing wipers and a panoramic sunroof.

Safety is well cared for with six airbags, front and reverse parking sensors, hill assist feature and more.

The 2020 Hyundai Tucson is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 150 PS and 192 Nm of peak torque, while the diesel with the same capacity produces 182 PS and 400 Nm of torque.

While there is a 6-speed automatic transmission for the petrol, there is a new 8-speed auto for the diesel variants. The SUV features all-wheel drive, but only on the top-spec GLS variant.

The 2020 Tucson is the third product to be launched under Hyundai’s “The Next Dimension” virtual event, after the Verna and Creta.

The 2020 Tucson will take on the likes of Jeep Compass, Volkswagen T-Roc, Skoda Karoq and Honda CR-V.
