2020 Hyundai Verna Variants Leaked Ahead Of Launch

Hyundai is gearing up to launch the Verna facelift in India next month. The vehicle will get changes to the exteriors, interiors, and mechanicals. While the current Verna gets 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engines, the new model will come with different engine options.

The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift will be offered with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, shared with the Kia Seltos and the new Hyundai Creta. The Verna will also get a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine which will be shared with the Hyundai Venue.

The 1.5-litre petrol engine is a naturally-aspirated unit. It churns out 115 HP and 144 Nm. It will be offered with a 6-speed MT or a CVT. The petrol engine has a claimed fuel efficiency of 17.1 km/l for the MT and 18.1 km/l for the CVT trim. The 1.5 petrol MT will be offered in S, S+, SX, and SX(O) trims while the 1.5 petrol AT will be available in SX and SX(O) trims.

The 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 115 HP and 250 Nm. It will get either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The MT will be offered on S, S+, SX and SX(O) trims while the AT will be available in SX and SX(O) trims. The diesel MT has a claimed fuel efficiency of 21.4 km/l while the diesel AT delivers 18.3 km/l.

The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine delivers 120 HP and 177 Nm and it will be offered with a 7-speed DCT only. This powertrain will be available on the SX variant only and it has a claimed fuel efficiency of 17.8 km/l.

The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift will be available in 6 colour options – Typhoon Silver, Starry Night, Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Phantom Black and Polar White. It will also come with Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car technology. The updated Verna will rival the new Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid, Maruti Ciaz and Toyota Yaris.
