2021 Audi Q5 Sportback
Design of the coupe SUV is similar to the regular Q5 from the front

Audi has revealed the 2021 Q5 Sportback with an updated styling that was first seen on the refreshed Q5 SUV unveiled earlier this year.

As with the India-bound Q5 facelift, the Q5 Sportback gets a new front-end with a larger octagonal grille, bigger air inlets, and LED headlights with DRLs.

At the sides, the greenhouse slopes rearward, below that sits the shoulder line and the side sills come in plastic trim with a silver design element. Customers will be given the option to spec the car with wheels ranging between 18 and 21 inches in size.

The taillights are the same as that on the Q5, but since this model is a Sportback, it sits in a differently shaped rear tail section, the glasshouse of which has more angle added to it to aid that coupe SUV look. Also, the rear bumper is new.

Inside, the dashboard is once again similar to that seen on the non-coupe model of the Q5. The 2021 Audi Q5 Sportback gets a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a head-up display, a 10.1-inch touchscreen for the latest MIB 3 infotainment system, connected car tech and a multi-function steering wheel.

Optional hardware modules such as the Audi phone box and the Bang and Olufsen sound system with 3D sound can also be had. One additional point to note is that despite the different styling, the Q5 Sportback does not lose much boot space.

Engine options on the 2021 Audi Q5 Sportback include a 2.0-litre TFSI with 12 V mild-hybrid system (261 HP, 310 Nm) and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel (204 HP, 400 Nm). All the models will come with Quattro all-wheel-drive.

There will also be a SQ5 Sportback that comes powered by a 3.0-litre TFSI V6 which produces 349 HP and 500 Nm. The SQ5 Sportback will also get OLED tech for the rear lamps, adaptive dampers and as options, air suspension and dynamic steering.

Numerous driver assist systems including adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, Audi side assist, Audi pre sense rear, lane departure warning and parking system plus will be offered as standard with the Q5 Sportback.

Since the SUV’s chief German rivals such as the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe are sold in India, Audi is expected to bring the Q5 Sportback after the regular Q5 to our shores.
