The new generation Hyundai Elantra is based on a new platform

After releasing teaser images, Hyundai has finally revealed the new generation Elantra. Based on the new K3 platform, the latest generation Elantra is longer, wider and lighter than its predecessor.

Hyundai is expected to introduce the new gen Elantra in India sometime next year while the international market will get the 2021 Elantra later this year.

The styling is completely new thanks to the carmaker’s latest design direction. It comes with a huge cascading grille dominating the front profile and extending towards the headlights.

The side profile gets aggressive lines and creases merging in the centre, which is quite a unique styling element. The diamond cut alloys are 17-inch in size. There is a coupe style roofline that merges sharply to the rear profile which gets interconnected LED tail lights.

The interior is inspired by its elder sibling, the Sonata. There is a horizontal blade design on the dashboard, a new steering wheel design, all-digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system having continuity with the instrument cluster. Both are 10.25-inch screens.

The 2021 Hyundai Elantra is loaded with all the latest tech including the BlueLink connected technology. It comes with ambient lighting with 64 different colours, 8-speaker Bose audio system, wireless charger, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, High Beam Assist, etc.

The new Elantra will be offered in multiple petrol, turbo petrol and hybrid engine options in the international market.
