JLR asks quite a steep asking price for the 2021 Ranger Rover Sport SVR

The 2021 model year Range Rover Sport SVR has been launched with a price tag of Rs. 2.19 crores (ex-showroom), in India, today.

Developed by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations, the fastest and most powerful Range Rover is hand-finished in Coventry, UK.

Sporting an all-aluminium architecture, with chassis enhancements, the 2021 Range Rover SVR comes with a distinctive look.

It has LED headlights with DRLs, a reprofiled front bumper for 2021 (with vents to improve brake cooling), a black contrast roof, and rides on 21-inch alloy wheels finished in Satin Polished Grey.

The interior remains luxurious as ever

Stepping inside, one would find the 2021 Range Rover Sport SVR to have a luxurious cabin despite being a performance SUV.

It does come with performance seats which are heated (rear ones as well) and finished in perforated Windsor leather. The headrests have an embossed SVR logo each, while the seat backs are finished in satin black.

For the price, 2021 Ranger Rover Sport SVR comes with features such as Touch Pro Duo, 360-degree Parking Aid, 825 W (19-speaker) Meridian Surround Sound System, Driver Condition Monitor, auto-dimming interior rear view mirror, ambient interior lighting, illuminated metal treadplates, and more.

Powering the performance SUV is a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine that delivers a maximum of 567 HP and 700 Nm of peak torque. The SUV can do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 4.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 283 km/hr.

According to Range Rover, the SUV has controlled pitch under heavy acceleration and braking, performance brake pads and discs and despite its demeanour, is still very capable off the road, having a 850 mm wading depth and up to 274 mm ground clearance in off-road mode.
