2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan Details Mirage Silver
Some of the bland old shades have made way for new ones

We bring you details about the 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan that has received a slew of updates and is expected to be put on sale before the end of this month.

It was a foregone conclusion that Royal Enfield was working on an updated version of its only adventure motorcycle as it was caught relentlessly testing the Himalayan from late last year.

While we could make out some changes through spy shots, we now know for sure the list of changes that the motorcycle has gone through.

For starters, the motorcycle will come with 3 new colour options namely – Granite Black, Mirage Silver and Pine Green, along with new graphics. Only 3 of the older colours – Gravel Grey, Lake Blue and Rock Red – have been retained.

Royal Enfield has concentrated hard on reducing rider fatigue when it comes to the Himalayan and thus, the bike now sports a taller windshield for diverting the air over the rider’s helmet and the screen is tinted too.

In addition, the seat, which now comes in brown, is made using higher density foam for more comfort and the front rack has been redesigned for less knee interference, something taller riders often complained about.

Also new is the rear carrier that has a flat surface metal plate for more strength and luggage carrying space. However, the most important upgrade would be the addition of Tripper Navigation powered by Google Maps.

This feature, first introduced on the Meteor 350, is more suited to the Himalayan’s go anywhere persona and completes the list of changes that the adventure bike has undergone for the 2021 model year.

One area that Royal Enfield will keep untouched is the powertrain. The 411cc unit will continue to put out a maximum of 24.3 BHP and 32 Nm peak torque. The gearbox too is likely to stay the same.

Since the firm is making all these changes, the asking price of the motorcycle is likely to go up as well. By how much you ask? Well, we need not wait for long to know that either.
