2021 Yamaha MT-15 Dual Channel ABS
Yamaha has been rolling out subtle updates across its motorcycle range

Yamaha is set to equip the 2021 model year MT-15 with dual channel ABS by way of an update which will be rolled out soon.

Unlike its full-faired sibling, the MT-15 did not come with dual channel ABS ever since it was put on sale. It also did not get the aluminium swingarm either.

However, looks like Yamaha has got enough feedback with regard to the braking system that it has finally decided to upgrade the 155cc motorcycle’s ABS system to a dual channel unit.

Above is the type approval document of the same and it looks like the Japanese brand will not waste any time in rolling out the update for the MT-15.

No changes will be made either to the styling, with the exception of there being a sticker denoting that the bike now comes with dual channel ABS, or other mechanical bits of the motorcycle.

But, what will change is the asking price. The 2021 Yamaha MT-15 dual channel ABS variant will cost more than the single channel variant which is retailed for Rs. 1,40,900/- or Rs. 1,41,900/- (ex-showroom, Delhi) depending upon the colour option.

It is said Yamaha will charge Rs. 1.43 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) from customers for the dual channel ABS variant that is likely to replace the single channel ABS variant, rather than be sold alongside it.
