Somehow, the changes have made the car look a bit grown-up now

The 2022 Honda Amaze spied recently is a well-specced version

The 2022 model year Honda Amaze has been spied undisguised as dealer dispatches have begun ahead of its launch, which is scheduled for 18th August.

On Wednesday, the Japanese firm announced that it has begun accepting bookings for the refreshed second-generation Amaze.

Further, Honda also released a teaser image and a video in a bid to create some hype for the model and inadvertently revealed some of the changes the 2022 Amaze will receive.

The fourth-generation CIty’s alloys have been fitted to the compact sedan now

The most prominent difference, with respect to the vehicle’s exterior, is that the compact sedan will now be offered with LED headlamps and LED fog lamps.

It will also come with a revised radiator grille that has 2 horizontal slats beneath the chrome bar that connects the headlamps.

The recently spied 2022 Honda Amaze had the fourth-generation Honda City’s 15-inch alloy wheels and chrome garnish for the door handles.

While a rear profile image of this particular model is not available, Honda has tweaked the tail lights a bit. Also, the compact sedan is expected to come with new colour options from hereon.

There should be more features inside

Stepping inside, the 2022 Honda Amaze gets the same dual tone dashboard and beige upholstery as before (the upholstery does look different), but there are silver accents throughout the cabin (on the dash, steering wheel and door panels).

The touchscreen is bigger and the display surround is finished in piano black trim. Honda is expected to equip the refreshed compact sedan with more features, including Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, like the City.

However, no changes will be made to the powertrain options of the vehicle. Its 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel motors will continue to stay put, so will the 5-speed manual and CVT options.

As for its price, Honda should be careful not to overprice the compact sedan that is struggling to find buyers already. The 2021 model costs between Rs. 6.32 lakhs and Rs. 11.11 lakhs (ex-showroom) and the facelift will cost more.
