The Hyundai Creta has received a proper facelift for model year 2022

The official unveil of the model year 2022 (MY22) Hyundai Creta has taken place in Indonesia, today.

As seen in leaked pictures that surfaced only a couple of days ago, the facelifted Creta gets an all-new ‘face’ this time around, which is inspired by the new generation Tucson.

The ‘parametric jewel’ grille looks the business and also has the DRLs integrated to it. The front bumper is new and houses the stacked LED headlamps and the new lower air intake.

Along the sides, the car does without the ‘lightning arch’ C-pillar garnish, while at the rear, the tail gate has been revised along with the LED stop lamps. The car is now 15 mm longer at 4315 mm than the pre-facelift model.

As can be seen from the images released after the 2022 Hyundai Creta unveil took place, the car comes with new skid plates and side skirts. A red colour pack can be optioned which adds red highlights on the body kit.

Inside, there is a new 10.25-inch instrument display, an 8-inch touchscreen housed in a revised console that has new shortcut switches, updated air-con control section and new door latches.

Otherwise, the design of the cabin remains as is and the car is packed to the rafters with features, some of which include Bose sound system, panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone charger, ventilated front seats, air purifier, cooled glove box and automatic temperature control.

Other notable features the compact SUV comes with include TPMS, rear-view camera, ambient lighting, cruise control, drive modes (Eco, Comfort, Smart, Sport) and traction control modes.

In Indonesia, the Creta is sold with a single 1.5-litre petrol engine good for 115 PS at 6300 RPM and 144 Nm of torque at 4500 RPM. The motor can be paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or an IVT.

In India, the car should have the same powertrain options as the current model

In order to keep its occupants safe, the Creta features 6 airbags, and a whole raft of driver-assistance systems like Forward Collision-avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Blind-spot Collision-avoidance Assist (BCA) and Rear Cross-traffic Collision-avoidance Assist (RCCA).

Priced between Rp. 279,000,000 (Rs. 14.56 lakhs) and Rp. 397,500,000 (Rs. 20.75 lakhs) in Indonesia, the official unveil of the 2022 Hyundai Creta and subsequently its launch, should take place soon in India.
