2022 Indian Chief Lineup Launched, Priced From Rs. 20.76 Lakhs

The asking price of the 2022 Indian Chief Dark Horse is the most affordable of the lot

Indian Motorcycle has launched the 2022 Chief lineup in India. The range starts with the Dark Horse, which costs from Rs. 20,75,922/- (ex-showroom).

There are 3 models in the Indian Chief range – the Dark Horse, Bobber Dark Horse and Super Chief Limited – and they have many things in common and select differences.

All 3 bikes share the 1890cc Thunderstroke 116 V-twin air-cooled motor that puts out 162 Nm of maximum torque at 3200 RPM. The engine is teamed to a 6-speed gearbox.

As standard, they come with LED lighting, keyless ignition, 4-inch circular touchscreen that provides access to the Ride Command system, a USB port, 12 V socket and ABS.

The motorcycles also feature a 15.1-litre fuel tank, 46 mm front fork, preload-adjustable rear shocks, dual exhaust, bobbed rear fender and they ride on Pirelli Night Dragon tyres.

Furthermore, the Indian Chief range also comes with 3 riding modes – ‘Standard’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Tour’ – along with cruise control and rear cylinder deactivation.

With the similarities out of the way, let us look at the differences and start with the most affordable model in the range, the Dark Horse.

2022 Indian Chief Dark Horse –

Sporting a single seat (662 mm saddle height) and mid-mounted foot pegs, the Chief Dark Horse comes in Alumina Jade Smoke, Black Smoke, Stealth Grey shades with gloss black highlights.

It rides on a 19-inch front wheel wrapped in 130/60 section rubber and 16-inch rear rim with 180/65-section tyre and weighs 304 kg (wet).

2022 Indian Chief Bobber Dark Horse –

This model is available in Black Smoke, Sagebrush Smoke and Titanium Smoke colour choices and all feature gloss black finishes.

Riding on 16-inch wire-spoke wheels, the Bobber Dark Horse gets 130/90-section front and 180/65-section rear tyres.

It also has a high-set handlebar, forward-set foot controls and a solo saddle (662 mm seat height) and weighs 315 kg (wet).

2022 Indian Super Chief Limited –

And finally, the Super Chief Limited, which is the priciest of the lot, that is available in paint options such as Blue State Metallic, Black Metallic and Maroon Metallic.

It comes with chrome finishes, fork covers, a windshield, touring seats, saddlebags, footboards and rides on 16-inch wire-spoked wheels. It is also the heaviest of the Chief range at 335 kg (wet).
