Indian Motorcycle Launch India

Indian Motorcycles has entered India by launching the complete Chief range comprising of the Chief Classic, Chief Vintage and Chieftain. The Indian Chief motorcycles feature classic styling mated to modern technology. The company has brought down the motorcycle via the CBU route as volumes for high-end cruisers is too less to justify local assembly. All the three Indian Chief motorcycles are powered by the Thunder Stroke 111 engine, which produces 139 NM of torque at 2600 RPM from its 1811cc, V-twin engine, coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.

All three bikes are offered in three colours namely Black, Red and Blue. All three bikes feature a 21-litre tank and use ABS as standard. The front tyre is 130 section while the rear is 180 section of Dunlop make on the Chief bikes. The width is the same between the three bikes but the length and height varies and so does the wheelbase and weight. But there is a reason why the Indian Chief is vying for the top spot when it comes to high-end cruiser bikes, because the Chief has it all to take you from Kanyakumari to Leh in utmost comfort.

The Indian Chief uses a cast aluminium frame and a comfortable suspension which uses telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Some of the noteworthy standard features on all Indian Chief models include cruise control, keyless start, leather seats and a light bar. The Chief Classic is the base model with the Chief Vintage adding in equipment like highway bar, quick release lexan windshield, quick release vintage saddle bags and vintage fender badge. The Chieftain is the top of the range and also gets remote locking hard saddle bags, tyre pressure monitoring system, driving lights, 100 watt stereo with FM, Bluetooth and smartphone compatibility.
