While the 2022 MG ZS EV was recently spotted, we now have official images of the car from the brand

After the 2022 ZS EV was spotted completely undisguised, MG Motor India has released a few official photographs of the soon-to-be launched electric compact SUV.

As reported by MotorBeam previously, the 2022 ZS EV will come with global design cues. Now, the brand has also announced that it will get the features of the global model.

The wheels are new this time around

From the official images, it is clear that the car will feature a new look for 2022. Painted in a shade of white, the 2022 MG ZS EV, looks very similar to the Astor, its sibling that is solely powered by a combustion engine (2 petrol options).

When compared with the 2021 ZS EV, the refreshed model has a modern look to it. It is quite amazing the level of visual difference new LED lights and bumpers can bring about in a car.

The new front end of the compact electric crossover, along with the revised set of 17-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels make a noticeable impact. It also adopts the tail lamps and rear bumper of the Astor, but the skid plate is different.

There will be noticeable changes to the car’s interior as well

Stepping inside, people will note the revised dashboard, altered centre console and an extensive list of new age features including a digital instrument cluster, 10.1-inch touchscreen, sunroof, a 360-degree camera system and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) among others.

MG Motor says the 2022 ZS EV will have the longest range “compared to any EV in India”. The car is expected to come with a larger 51 kWh battery pack. This would mean the crossover will come with over 450 km of claimed range.

The 2022 MG ZS EV will be introduced in the market this month and should cost more than the 2021 model priced between Rs. 21.50 lakhs and Rs. 25.18 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Since its introduction, the EV from MG has found close to 4000 homes in India. It holds 27 percent market share in the country’s electric passenger vehicle segment.
