2023 Hyundai Alcazar gets the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, price revealed
2023 Hyundai Alcazar launched with a starting price of Rs. 16.74 lakhs (ex-showroom). The carmaker has given it some mild changes and new RDE compliant and E20 fuel ready engine options.
As the new norms are kickstarting from April this year, carmakers are making some changes to their powertrains to meet the new norms. Along with this, many carmakers are also updating other mechanicals and features including Hyundai.
Hyundai has updated the Alcazar with a couple of changes. The 3-row SUV now comes with a new grille design which gets slightly different chrome elements borrowed from the Venue. It also gets new puddle lamp logo. There are no other visual changes apart from these.
The car now also comes with ISG (Idle Stop & Go) as well as Side Airbag & Curtain Airbag as stock fitment across trims, which means 6 airbags as standard across all the variants.
Now the biggest change in the Alcazar is the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that replaces the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor. Yes it will continue to get the 1.5-litre diesel engine option as well that produces 116 PS and 250 Nm of torque and is now RDE compliant and E20 fuel ready.
The new 1.5-litre turbo petrol produces 160 PS and 235 Nm of torque. It comes with both 7-speed DCT automatic and 6-speed manual transmission options. In comparison, the 2.0-litre unit made 159 PS and 191 Nm of torque.
