Hyundai Alcazar Launched, Priced From Rs. 16.30 Lakhs

Hyundai has set the asking price of the Alcazar pretty much on a par with its rivals

Hyundai has launched the Alcazar in India with a starting price tag of Rs. 16.30 lakhs (ex-showroom and introductory), today.

The new 3-row crossover based on the very popular Creta, comes in 3 main variants (Prestige, Platinum and Signature) and in both single tone and dual tone exterior colourways.

Although the core design of the Creta has been carried over, the Alcazar, which will be offered in both 6- and 7-seater versions, does get its own front and rear profile styling, while its wheelbase is also longer at 2760 mm.

It features Cognac Brown and Black dual tone interior and the cabin has numerous features including 2 digital screens (10.25 inches in size), connected car features, 8-speaker Bose sound system, 8-way electrically adjustable driver seat, ambient lighting, and more.

Customers can choose between 2 engine options. The petrol motor is a 2.0-litre unit making a maximum of 159 PS and 191 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine is a smaller 1.5-litre unit churning out 115 PS and 250 Nm.

Both motors can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox and Hyundai provides 3 drive modes (Eco, City and Sport) and traction control modes (Snow, Sand and Mud) too.

The Alcazar rivals the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500 and the MG Hector Plus and will bridge the gap between the Creta and Tucson in Hyundai’s portfolio.
