2024 Maruti Swift bookings commence unofficially, launch next month

Maruti Suzuki gears up to unveil the fourth-generation Swift in India next month. While the official price tag remains under wraps, eager customers can already secure their spots with unofficial bookings underway at select dealerships for a booking amount of Rs. 11,000/-

Details regarding the variant lineup suggest a continuation of the popular LXi, VXi, ZXi and range-topping ZXi+ models. Colour choices are expected to offer a diverse selection including blue, red, white, silver, black and the vibrant addition of orange.

In terms of design, it will get refreshed aesthetic with potential updates to the front and rear bumpers, a revamped grille design and the inclusion of LED headlamps featuring L-shaped LED daytime running lights. LED taillights, new alloy wheel designs, a rear wiper and washer, and a shark-fin antenna are among the anticipated enhancements. Notably, the return of rear door handles to the doors signals a departure from their current placement on the C-pillar.

While global markets have seen the introduction of a new 1.2-litre Z12E 3-cylinder petrol engine, it remains uncertain whether Maruti Suzuki will introduce this powertrain to the Indian market or stick with the reliable 1.2-litre K12C motor currently in use.

While specific transmission details are yet to be confirmed, it’s anticipated that Maruti will continue offering the 5-speed manual and automated manual transmission (AMT) options, tailored to suit Indian driving conditions.

Following the launch of Swift, Maruti Suzuki will introduce the new generation Dzire as well which will get similar styling. The compact sedan is also expected to come with a sunroof, which will be a segment first feature.
