Ola Electric To Enter Sports Scooter Segment
Ola Electric is set to launch its first-ever sports scooter. The scooter would mark Ola’s entry into the performance-focused two-wheeler category, expanding beyond its commuter-centric offerings. This launch aligns with the brand’s strategy to strengthen its premium product lineup.
Design
The scooter will have a muscular and aggressive design, setting it apart from Ola’s minimalist scooters. The upcoming model is expected to integrate advanced AI-powered features. These innovations will come via Ola’s in-house platform, Ola Krutrim, enhancing rider convenience and overall connectivity.
Features
Ola will also introduce its new MoveOS 6 software with the sports scooter. The software adds ride insights, customizable sounds, and predictive diagnostics. A unique speed-boost mode and voice assistant support will further improve the riding experience.
Market Competition
The sports scooter will rival petrol powered models like the Yamaha Aerox Aprilia SR160, etc. This move targets young, urban customers seeking sporty yet sustainable options.
Among the new launches, Ola has announced the S1 Pro Sport at a price of Rs. 1.49 Lakh (ex-showroom). The model is expected to be available in January 2026, further boosting Ola’s premium portfolio. Additionally, Ola confirmed plans for its first electric motorcycle in 2027.
Outlook
Ola’s market share recently fell from over 50% to 16.8% due to intensifying competition. With this launch, Ola looks to reclaim momentum and strengthen its leadership. Its Krishnagiri gigafactory will also play a crucial role in delivering future innovations.
