Kia adds new HTE (EX) trim to Carens Clavis with added features
Kia India has expanded its Carens Clavis (ICE) lineup with the introduction of a new HTE (EX) trim, priced at Rs. 12,54,900/- for the G1.5 petrol, Rs. 13,41,900/- for the G1.5 turbo-petrol and Rs. 14,52,900/- for the D1.5 diesel (all prices ex-showroom).
The new variant is positioned above the existing HTE(O) trim and is offered exclusively as a 7-seater. It is available across all three ICE powertrains, allowing Kia to broaden the model’s coverage within the MPV-oriented mass-premium segment.
A notable update with the HTE (EX) variant is the introduction of an electric sunroof for the G1.5 petrol powertrain for the first time. The trim also adds a set of comfort and convenience features that include fully automatic temperature control, LED daytime running lamps and position lamps, LED cabin lighting and an auto up/down driver-side power window. According to Kia, these additions respond to customer requests for more equipment in lower and mid-tier configurations without significantly altering accessibility or pricing.
With the launch of the HTE (EX) trim, Kia continues to refine the Carens Clavis range as part of its ongoing model strategy in India. The update aligns with a wider industry trend of adding feature-rich variants at lower entry points to support competitive positioning and broaden appeal among price-sensitive family buyers.
