Skoda updates Kushaq with new features, tech upgrades and revised variants
Skoda has introduced a comprehensive update for the Kushaq in India, adding new comfort features, revised equipment distribution and updated digital interfaces while retaining its existing powertrain portfolio. The new lineup continues to target the midsize SUV segment but now brings segment-first features and a broader mix of value-oriented equipment across variants.
New Features & Segment Additions
The latest update brings several notable additions, including a segment-first rear seat massage function (available on Prestige and Monte Carlo variants) and an eight-speed torque converter automatic paired with the 1.0 TSI engine. Skoda has also introduced a panoramic sunroof on higher variants, expanding the premium equipment list.
The Monte Carlo (MC) trim now stays automatic-only and differentiates itself further with red brake calipers, new alloy designs and variant-specific disc brake configurations.
Standard & Core Equipment
The brand continues its “value USP” approach by offering several features as standard or widely accessible through the range. These include an electric sunroof (panoramic on Prestige and MC), full-LED lighting, alloy wheels, rear wiper and defogger, auto AC, rain-sensing wipers and an auto-dimming IRVM. Safety and convenience items like sequential rear turn indicators and tyre-pressure monitor are also available from lower or mid trims, depending on specification.
Interior & Digital Upgrades
Inside, the Kushaq receives updated upholstery, new decorative trim and revised lighting elements. Premium variants now feature a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, while Signature and Sportline variants receive a smaller 8-inch digital cluster for the first time. The infotainment system has also been upgraded, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen (Signature and above) and support for the Skoda “companion app” powered by Google Automotive AI.
The companion app integrates voice-driven assistance, real-time content delivery and ecosystem control, tailored for Indian voice accents to enable hands-free management of calls, climate control and media functions.
Colours & Exterior Changes
Three new exterior colours – Shimla Green, Cherry Red and Steel Grey – join the existing palette, taking the total to eight options. Updated alloy wheel designs have been introduced for the Prestige and MC trims. Upper variants now gain illuminated exterior branding elements, including a light band on the grille and backlit Skoda lettering on the tailgate.
Powertrain & Mechanical Details
Skoda continues to offer the Kushaq with two turbo-petrol engines. The 1.5 TSI (150 HP / 250 Nm) remains paired exclusively with a 7-speed DSG and receives four-wheel disc brakes in its latest configuration. The 1.0 TSI (115 HP / 178 Nm) can be optioned with either a 6-speed manual or the new 8-speed torque converter automatic.
Dimensions & Practicality
The Kushaq retains its existing platform and proportions, with a wheelbase of 2651 mm, ground clearance of 188 mm and a boot rated at 491 litres expandable to 1405 litres with the rear seats folded. Fuel capacity remains 50 litres and seating is configured for five occupants.
