BMW F 450 GS has been introduced in India as the brand’s new entry point into the GS range, replacing the outgoing G 310 GS. Prices start at Rs. 4.70 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the Base variant and go up to Rs. 5.30 lakhs for the top-spec GS Trophy trim. Bookings are now open while deliveries are scheduled to begin from June 2026. The motorcycle is manufactured locally by TVS Motor Company at its Hosur facility.
The F 450 GS is offered in three variants – Base, Exclusive and GS Trophy. All versions are powered by a 420cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine producing 48 HP and 43 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Select variants also get BMW’s Shift Assistant Pro, enabling clutchless upshifts and downshifts.
With a kerb weight of 178 kg, the motorcycle uses a KYB upside-down front fork and a monoshock at the rear with preload and rebound adjustment. Braking duties are handled by a Brembo front setup and a Bybre rear unit, supported by ABS Pro. Additional safety features include Dynamic Brake Control and Dynamic Brake Light.
Feature highlights include a 6.5-inch TFT display with connectivity, heated grips and adjustable levers. BMW’s Easy Ride Clutch is standard on the GS Trophy variant and can be added as an option to other trims.
The Base variant comes equipped with essential features such as all-LED lighting, traction control and adjustable controls, and is available in a Cosmic Black shade.
The Exclusive variant adds off-road-focused equipment including hand guards, an engine guard, Riding Modes Pro and Shift Assistant Pro.
The GS Trophy variant gets further enhancements such as sport suspension, a Rallye-style windshield, aluminium engine guard and BMW’s signature tricolour paint scheme.
The F 450 GS carries typical GS styling with a tall stance and adventure-ready design. It also features quad-LED DRLs inspired by the flagship BMW R 1300 GS. BMW is offering a range of optional accessories, including cross-spoke wheels, luggage options and multiple seat configurations.
Positioned as BMW’s most accessible GS motorcycle, the F 450 GS competes with models like the Honda NX500 while also overlapping with single-cylinder offerings such as the KTM 390 Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. Its twin-cylinder engine and relatively lighter weight could make it a distinctive option in this segment.
