2026 Maruti Brezza Facelift Spotted

Maruti Suzuki is likely to introduce an updated version of the Brezza in July, bringing a range of mechanical and feature upgrades to one of its bestselling models. While cosmetic revisions are expected to be relatively minor, the facelift could mark the first time the Brezza is offered with multiple petrol engine choices.

It is expected to retain the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine while adding a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit to the lineup. The turbo-petrol engine, already used in the Fronx, could provide stronger performance and a broader appeal among buyers looking for a more engaging driving experience.

The addition of a smaller turbocharged engine may also offer regulatory advantages. Under current taxation norms, petrol vehicles under four metres in length and powered by engines smaller than 1.2-litre attract lower taxes than models with larger petrol engines. This could potentially help Maruti Suzuki improve the Brezza’s competitiveness in the segment.

The current petrol and CNG variants are expected to continue. The CNG version could receive an underfloor tank arrangement, a setup that may improve luggage capacity compared to the existing configuration.

Apart from powertrain changes, the updated Brezza is expected to receive incremental improvements in safety, technology and convenience features. Dealers suggest stocks of the outgoing model are nearing depletion, with existing customer bookings likely to be transferred to the facelifted version once it is launched.

The timing of the update comes as competition in the sub-four-metre SUV segment continues to intensify. Several rivals already offer turbo-petrol engines and multiple powertrain options, while demand for compact SUVs remains strong across the market.

The Brezza continues to be one of Maruti Suzuki’s key volume contributors, consistently registering healthy monthly sales. With the upcoming update, the company appears to be aiming to strengthen the model’s appeal among both value-focused buyers and those seeking improved performance.
