You read it first on MotorBeam. Amitabh Bachchan, one of India’s top actors has recently become the brand ambassador for TVS Motor’s Jupiter scooter. He is one of the most well-known names across the world and also one of the leading actors of Indian cinema. Hence it is not surprising to know that most companies would not miss any opportunity to make him endorse their product. Big B, as he is called, has endorsed various brands previously like Gujarat Tourism, Maruti Suzuki, ICICI Bank to name a few.

The TVS Jupiter has been well received in the Indian market, winning most of the prestigious awards since its launch along with winning the ‘MotorBeam Scooter of the Year’ award in 2014. The Jupiter offers a wide range of features in areas of comfort, safety, mileage and power. Thus, it has given established products like the Honda Activa and Hero Maestro a tough fight in the highly competitive scooter segment.

The TVS Jupiter is powered by a 110cc engine and became the fastest selling TVS 2-wheeler with 5 lakh units sold by May 2015 from the time of its launch. Now with Amitabh Bachchan becoming the brand ambassador, the company only hopes to increase the sales numbers. The roping in of Big B comes at a time when Hero has declared war in the scooter space with the launch of two all new scooters, the Maestro Edge and Duet.

TVS recently stated that the Jupiter has been designed with a lot of thought and customer insights and the results are evident by the customer response and also the numerous awards it has won. TVS hopes that with an actor like Amitabh Bachchan endorsing their product, sales will go through the roof in the near future. The effect of the brand ambassador can be seen in the sales chart in the coming months. The company recently launched the Jupiter ZX Limited Edition but there is still no option of a front disc brake.
