Aprilia Offers Extended Warranty On RS 457 & Tuono 457
Aprilia has extended the warranty period for the RS 457 and Tuono 457. After releasing a statement addressing reliability issues regarding the RS 457, the brand extended the warranty period.
New Warranty
The dealers of the Italian brand report that they have extended the warranty period to 4 years/48,000 Km. This warranty is higher compared to the previous 3 years/36,000 Km warranty. Unlike the previous warranty, this warranty can be transferred to second or third owners.
However, it remains to be seen if the existing owners can purchase the additional coverage. Aprilia took a controversial stance by blaming the external modifications as a reason for the reliability issues and solving a few problems of the stock Aprilia RS 457.
Outlook
Notably, the 457cc engines are not fundamentally unreliable, but Aprilia’s bad reputation with service and reliability exacerbates the situation. Hopefully, this approach will help Aprilia improve its reputation in the reliability department. The Italian brand also needs to increase the number of service centres in the country to sell more 2-wheelers.
