Piaggio is all set to launch the Aprilia SR 125 in India in the coming few weeks. The SR 125 is based on the SR 150 and promises to be an affordable yet performance-oriented alternative to the latter. The scooter has started arriving at select dealerships with an indicative sticker price of Rs. 65,309/- (ex-showroom and yet to be confirmed by Aprilia).

Looks-wise and design-wise, the Aprilia SR 125 is identical to the SR 150 while the underpinnings also remain the same. The spy images reveal two new colours – silver and blue. The scooter is expected to be powered by the same 125cc engine which also powers the Vespa VXL 125. Mated to a CVT automatic gearbox, the 125cc mill produces 10.06 HP of power at 7500 RPM and 10.06 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM. The SR 125 comes suspended by telescopic forks up front and a single-arm rear suspension.

For anchorage, the vehicle uses disc brake for the front wheel while the rear wheel gets a drum unit. The Aprilia SR 125 will rival the Suzuki Access 125 and Honda Grazia. Meanwhile, the Aprilia SR 150 has been spotted recently wearing a new matte olive green shade. The new colour scheme is available at the same price as the regular colour variants and is priced at Rs. 68,160/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
