Aprilia SR 175 Launched, Gets Higher Performance Compared To The Older SR 160
Aprilia has launched the SR 175 in India, replacing the older SR 160 in Aprilia’s lineup. It is priced at Rs. 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom), targeting premium scooter buyers. This model blends aggressive styling with improved performance and modern features.
Styling
Despite its dated look, the design of the SR 160 remains unchanged, still appearing aggressive and sporty. Aprilia refreshed the colour palette and graphics to add appeal. The scooter is now available in Matte Prismatic Dark and Glossy Tech White.
Engine
The larger 174.7cc single-cylinder engine is the biggest change, producing 13 HP at 7200 RPM and 14.14 NM at 6000 RPM. This marks a clear performance jump over the SR 160’s engine. A CVT automatic transmission pairs with the engine.
Suspension & Braking
The SR 175 rides on 14-inch alloy wheels, offering better stability and grip on city roads. In the front, there are telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock setup. These components provide a balanced and comfortable ride by working together.
In the front, there is a 220mm front disc brake setup and a rear drum brake for effective stopping power. The scooter also features single-channel ABS for added safety. This combination ensures confidence while riding in various conditions.
Features
A major visual update is the new 5.5-inch colour TFT instrument cluster, replacing the previous LCD unit. The new screen offers Bluetooth connectivity and a premium interface. It retains LED lighting and a convenient USB charging port.
