Ather Introduces New EL Platform, Will Be Used For Manufacturing Three Models
At the Ather Community Day 2025, Ather Energy unveiled its new EL platform. This next-generation EV architecture focuses on optimising scalability and cost. Future models, including a family scooter, maxi-scooter, and sporty performance EV, will make use of this platform.
Ather EL01 Concept
The company also showcased the Ather EL01 Concept, envisioning the next-generation family scooter. The EL platform introduces a scalable chassis, new powertrain, and re-engineered software stack. Ather claims faster assembly, longer service intervals, and quicker periodic maintenance are possible because of the new platform.
Features
The key innovations include the Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS) and a new Charge Drive Controller. The controller integrates the on-board charger with the motor controller. This eliminates the need for carrying a portable charger on long trips.
New Software Update
Ather also revealed its biggest software upgrade yet, AtherStack 7.0. The most notable feature is an AI-based voice interaction module for Indian dialects. Other highlights include Crash Alerts, Pothole Alerts, and theft-protection systems such as ParkSafe and LockSafe.
The new software is reverse-compatible with existing scooters via an over-the-air update. This ensures current Ather customers also benefit from the latest features.
Riding Modes
Another standout is Infinite Cruise, a bespoke cruise control system. It offers three modes: CityCruise, Hill Control, and Crawl Control. These modes are designed to suit varied riding conditions.
Charging System
Ather also presented its next-generation fast charging system. It charges twice as quickly, delivering 30 km range in 10 minutes. This system will significantly enhance long-distance EV usability.
Expected Launch Date
The scooters based on the EL platform will be produced at Ather’s Sambhaji Nagar factory. The first launch is expected next year. Ather plans to release the new model around the festive season.
