Audi officials claimed that this issue isn’t related to the global emissions scandal

The Volkswagen Group was recently embroiled in the controversy surrounding the emissions scam and now the ARAI has asked Audi India to suspend the production and sales of the Q5 because it was found to have higher emission levels than permitted. The diesel trim of the Q5 was found to have higher Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) level than what is stipulated.

This was happening due to air getting trapped in the coolant system. The company seems to have rectified the issue and the rectified version of the car will arrive at dealerships in some time. Audi has done some software tweaks to control the emissions and this time the percentage was found to be within the permissible norms.

A fresh testing was done for 4 cars at the ARAI facility in Pune and Audi officials have confirmed that the issue is resolved now. The company is now waiting for the Type Approval. Company officials even claimed that this issue is not related to the global emissions scam whatsoever.
