Audi Q4 Concept Sketch

Audi has revealed the first official sketches of a SUV concept that is scheduled to be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show starting on 20th April. Although, the company is remaining tight lipped about the concept, the sketches give us the first look of what could be the Q4 SUV Concept. The design language featured on the concept shares many traits with the Allroad Shooting Brake concept that was shown back in January, earlier this year at the NAIAS and indicates that future Audi models will depict similar styling cues.

The 5-door Audi Q4 SUV features several design traits including the headlights, grille and tail lights that are very reminiscent of the 2015 TT coupe that features the company’s new design language. The Q4 concept comes with the chrome induced front grille and the adjoining LED headlights, while the bumper features larger air intakes and a muscular hood. Keeping up with the crossover concept, the SUV features a curved coupe like roofline and pronounced wheel arches enclosing larger alloy wheels. The rear gets the Quattro badging embossed across the round tipped twin-exhausts, lending a sporty look to the crossover.

On the inside, the sketches reveals four individual seats with the optional flat folding rear seats for enhanced storage space. The virtual cockpit feature from the new TT coupe will also be seen on the crossover. The bold and prominent lines do exhibit a sharp characteristic on the concept and showcase the aggressive design language that Audi is looking forward to on its models in the future. The company is working on the new crossover catering to the market demand for such products in the segment.

A crossover essentially combines the driving dynamics of a car, coupled with the features of an SUV. Underneath the masculine body will be a plug-in hybrid powertrain that will propel all four wheels of the Q4 concept. The all new AUdi Q4 will be competing against the BMW X4 and the Porsche Macan in the segment. Audi has kept mum about the details of the sketches, but we expect an official announcement to come soon as we get closer to the unveil at the Beijing Auto Show.
