One of the most hotly anticipated bikes from Bajaj’s stable, the Pulsar 200 SS is still sometime away from launch as the Pune based manufacturer is leaving no stone unturned with its new flagship bike. While the internet is full of spy shots of the Pulsar 200 SS on a variety of occasions, a new video has now surfaced showing the fully-faired sports bike doing testing in Baralacha La en route to Leh. Most likely during high altitude testing, the Pulsar 200 SS was caught on camera while trying to wade through a passing rocky stream where it got stuck midway.
As it goes about in the video, the full camouflaged Pulsar 200 SS passes the stream rather easily for the most part with the rider revving it through out the process. However, due to the rocky surface, the Pulsar 200 SS is stuck midway and it takes a little help from the team members to loosen up the front wheel on the 200 SS test mule as it clears the interim stop with ease. The video also manages to give us a glimpse of the good looking twin projector headlamps as well as the nice daytime running LED lights, while the exhaust note is rather pleasing on the bike.
The video also showcases the go many places capabilities of the new Pulsar 200 SS that will definitely please prospective buyers who would want to tour with their bikes. While official details are far from available, our inside sources have conveyed that the new Pulsar 200 SS will come with 23.70 PS of power, sharing its underpinning with the 200 NS (but with revisions to the chassis) including the 199.5cc single-cylinder engine and even the instrument cluster. The design takes inspiration from the larger Pulsar 400 SS showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year and will be priced very competitively at nearly Rs. 1.35 lakhs (on-road). Bajaj will be branding the 200 SS as the fastest Pulsar ever.
