Bentley Bentayga Speed Unveiled, Drops W12 For A Twin Turbo V8

Bentley has unveiled the new Bentayga Speed. The 2025 iteration of the luxury drops the iconic W12 in favour of the twin-turbo V8. This change results in a lower weight and quicker acceleration times as well as higher top speed.

Engine

A 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 powers the Bentley Bentayga Speed. Producing 650 HP and 850 NM of torque, it is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The SUV achieves 0-100 Km/hr acceleration in just 3.6 seconds up to a top speed of 310 Km/hr!

Performance-Oriented Changes

Buyers can choose an optional Akrapovic titanium exhaust system to listen to the sound of the 8-cylinder engine. The Bentayga Speed is also 2466 Kg, which is 42 Kg lighter than its predecessor. This is a result of incorporating a smaller V8 engine.

Bentley has also reworked the drive modes, increasing damper stiffness by 15% in Sport Mode and permitting drifting of the opulent SUV with ESC. The rear wheel steering also benefits low-speed manoeuvrability and high-speed stability.

Exterior & Interior Changes

The 22-inch wheels feature Speed badging. These badges can also be found on the optional 23-inch wheels. On the inside, the SUV has a different driver’s display, Speed badging on the dashboard and treadplates. Not to mention, Speed is also embroidered on the seats.

Market Competition & Positioning

In terms of competition, the Bentayga competes with other performance SUVs like Lamborghini Urus SE, Aston Martin DBX 707, Mercedes AMG-G63 and many more. The Bentayga Speed provides a combination of opulent luxury and a sporty engine, which makes it the fastest Bentley SUV to date.
