In the teaser video, the Triple Black variant of the BMW C 400 GT is shown

BMW Motorrad India has yet again teased the C 400 GT maxi-scooter on social media which is expected to be launched here this month.

On microblogging site Twitter, the firm posted a short video of the Triple Black variant and in the description, it wrote: “Get ready to conquer the urban life! The all-new BMW C 400 GT is arriving soon to redefine urban mobility.”

It is without a doubt a very masculine maxi-scooter that looks big in every sense of the way. Its front end is wide and has integrated LED headlights with DRLs and a large flyscreen.

In the UK it costs £6995 which is equivalent to Rs. 7 lakhs

Sporting a stepped seat, the BMW C 400 GT has sharp side panels, raised handlebar, twin grab handles, a neat exhaust canister and an LED tail lamp.

Although the exact features the India-spec C 400 GT will come with is unknown, in other markets, it can be had with a 6.5-inch TFT colour display, smartphone connectivity feature and keyless ride.

There are stowages in the front and under the seat (which is illuminated) and charge ports up front too. But people do not buy a big maxi-scooter for practicality, do they?

They buy it for the power it has and the BMW C 400 GT has 34 ponies from a 350cc, single cylinder, water-cooled heart that also pumps out 35 Nm of peak torque.

Mated to a CVT, the motor propels the maxi-scooter to a top speed of 139 km/hr. It has a 35 mm telescopic front fork, adjustable twin rear shocks and wide tyres wrapped around 15-inch front wheel and 14-inch rear rim.

Twin 265 mm discs (4-piston caliper) and a single 265 mm disc with a single piston caliper provide the stopping power and yes, ABS is present as standard.
