2014 Suzuki Let's Scooter

After first unveiling the Let’s scooter and the Gixxer 155 motorcycle in January earlier this year, Japanese auto maker Suzuki is all set to launch its latest offering the Let’s automatic scooter in India in the last week of April. The new 110cc scooter is targeted towards the youth and is most likely to carry a price tag of Rs. 47,000/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai) when launched. Certain dealerships have also commenced with the bookings of the scooter with an advance payment of Rs. 1000/-, while the deliveries are expected to commence from the first week of May.

Powering the new Let’s scooter is a 112.98cc engine that belts out 8.7 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 9 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. The engine is mated to a CVT to send power to the rear wheel. Suzuki has incorporated a fuel saving technology called Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) that helps deliver a claimed fuel economy of 63 km/l on the scooter. The Let’s also gets telescopic coil springs at the front and swing-arm type coil spring at the rear for better ride quality; while tubeless tyres are on offer. No front disc brake has been provided though. Primarily aimed at female centric buyers, Suzuki has managed to keep the weight of the scooter light at just 98 kgs, which will aid in added performance and provide nimble handling.

Styling wise too, the Suzuki Let’s 110cc scooter manages to keep the conservative lines intact with a hint of modernity all over. The cut away floor boards have been cleverly designed to offer easy handling on the scooter. The Let’s scooter is a crucial model for Suzuki as it will help the company realise its target to sell 10 lakh two-wheelers in a period of 3 years. The Let’s will be offered in five solid metallic colours which include Mira red, Triton blue, Glass Sparkle black, Sonic silver and Mirage white. Competing with the Let’s will be the Honda Activa-i, Yamaha Ray and the upcoming TVS Scooty Zest in the bread and butter 110cc automatic scooter segment.
