This time around, the BYD e6 was spotted in Mumbai
The BYD e6 has been spotted in India yet again, this time near the Mumbai airport, as multiple units have been doing rounds across the country.
MotorBeamer Ken shared these images with us. Unsurprisingly, BYD has only used e6 models painted in the Crystal White shade for test runs in India. The car can also be had in Doctor Black, Blue with Black and Green with White colours overseas.
While much has been said about the sleek exterior shape of the front-wheel drive electric MPV, this time around, its interior has been captured as well and thus, let us look at that, shall we.
The dashboard is as simple as they come. The upper section is just a flat plane, while the centre section comes painted in gloss black, which also extends into the door panels.
In the middle of the dashboard sits a 10.1-inch rotatable touchscreen and to its right is the semi-digital instrument cluster and a multifunctional leather steering wheel.
There is nothing flashy nor is there anything out of the ordinary inside. Everything is simple and the layout seems practical too. Also, the 5-seat electric MPV has leather interior upholstery.
In terms of features, the BYD e6, in addition to the ones mentioned above, comes with auto AC, rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, an electric tailgate, and a whole host of conventional safety systems.
A 71.7 kWh battery capacity provides power to a 94 BHP electric motor that also puts out 180 torques. Claimed range is 415 km in the combined cycle and 520 km for the city, while the top speed is 130 km/hr.
But, more importantly, the e6 can be charged in 1.5 hours thanks to a 60 kW DC onboard charger or in 2 hours using a 40 kW AC onboard charger.
We reckon road trials of the recently spotted BYD e6 will be wrapped up soon, post which the EV will be introduced in the market most likely as a completely built-up unit.
