Citroen C3X Prototype
Seems like it will be a sub 4-metre crossover sedan

Citroen is likely to name the new crossover sedan as C3X or FastLounge

Recently, we received a single spy image of a mysterious car that appears to be the upcoming Citroen C3X crossover sedan. It was spotted by MotorBeamer Jeswin in Bengaluru.

No, it doesn’t resemble the Tata Curvv, as the proportions, window line and wheel arches are completely different. Some websites claim it to be the new XUV500 Coupe, which it clearly isn’t considering the size and design language. Our closest guess is the C3X, which might be named Citroen FastLounge in its production form according to some reports.

The prototype is fully camouflaged, but the black panel at the rear indicates that the car has a coupe-styled roofline and is relatively tall as well.

The Citroen C3X will be based on the India-centric CMP modular platform, which currently underpins the C3 hatchback and the upcoming C3 Aircross. It will be positioned between the hatchback and the SUV.

The crossover sedan might take design inspiration from the C4X sold in global markets, featuring a similar fastback design. It is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine producing 110 BHP.

There are speculations that this crossover sedan will compete in the C-segment space in India, which includes the Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, etc. However, judging by the length of this prototype and the short rear overhang, it appears smaller than these C-segment sedans.

Based on this image, we believe it will compete with the Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura compact sedans, but with a unique body style. This will also help Citroen price it better with sub 4-metre tax benefits. The French carmaker is expected to introduce this car in India sometime in 2024.

Currently, we can only speculate about this prototype since there are no concrete details available and we have received only a single image of this test mule. What are your thoughts on this upcoming Citroen?
