Well, at least 3 scooters witnessed an increase in their sales figure

In December 2021 scooter sales dropped by 24 percent!

Having cemented its place on top of the scooter sales chart, the Honda Activa leads in December 2021 as well by registering sales of 1.04 lakh units.

The actual dogfight in recent times has been between the TVS Jupiter and Suzuki Access 125 for the second position in the chart and the TVS product came on top again.

By registering sales of 38,142 units, the Jupiter sealed the second spot, while the Access 125 could only find a comparatively less number of takers (25,358) during the same period.

Fourth place in the December 2021 scooter sales chart was occupied by the NTorq from TVS Motor. It found just under 16,900 new takers. Next up is the Hero Pleasure+ with 9205 unit sales.

December 2021 Scooter Sales
Hero’s Pleasure+ saw its sales cut by half in December 2021 as opposed to December 2020

The Honda Dio (8637 units) and the Yamaha Fascino (8455 units) were separated by a small margin and the same could be said about the last 3 scooters in the top 10 sales chart.

Sadly, as many as 7 scooters in the list registered year-on-year (YoY) sales degrowth, with only the Burgman Street (116 percent), Maestro Edge (39 percent) and Fascino (37 percent) performing better than they did in December 2020.

Overall, the scooters in the top 10 sales chart for December 2021 registered combined sales of 2,28,045 units as opposed to 3,00,920 units in the same period a year before. This is a 24 percent reduction in sales.
