Bookings have commenced in Mumbai and Delhi for the Ducati Scrambler

The Ducati Scrambler is actually a low displacement motorcycle that was initially offered by Ducati for the American market. Carrying an old school design with latest generation characteristics, the motorcycle finds a few of its roots in the dirt bike segment, which is evident from its design language. With Ducati having recently re-entered the Indian market without a partnership, the Italian superbike manufacturer is very optimistic with its products for India. Ducati has started accepting bookings for its soon to launch entry-level motorcycle in the country, the Scrambler.

Ducati India has started accepting bookings, the booking amount being Rs. 2 lakhs for the Scrambler which will be available in Delhi and Mumbai. Once it is launched in India, the Scrambler will replace the Monster 795 to become the cheapest Ducati offering. Initially offered only in red, all colours and models of the Scrambler will make its way to India eventually. The bike is expected to cost Rs. 6.57 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai) and will be launched towards the end of May, with deliveries starting soon after.

The Ducati Scrambler is powered by a 803cc, L-twin, Desmodromic, 2-valves per cylinder, air-cooled engine that generates 75 BHP of power at 8250 RPM and 68 Nm of torque at 5750 RPM. Power is transferred to the rear wheel via a chain final drive and it uses a 6-speed gearbox. The bike features LED inserts in the headlamp, an LED tail lamp, Pirelli dual sport tyres, USD front fork, rear monoshock, 18-inch front and 17-inch tyres (the off-road variant, the Urban Enduro gets spoke wheels instead of alloys), ABS, a long single seat, 330 mm and 245 mm disc brakes at the front and rear respectively and much more.

People who make bookings will be allowed to cancel their orders at a later stage before making the final payment after the motorcycle is launched in case it does not meet their expectations. They will get the full booking amount back as the refund.
