Ferrari Amalfi Launched, Replaces The Roma
Ferrari has launched the Amalfi. The brand has decided to replace the Roma with the Amalfi. The mid-engined V8 2+2 coupe makes a great recipe for a grand tourer, and the Amalfi aims to improve upon the already impressive Roma.
Styling
The Ferrari Amalfi shares its silhouette with the Roma but introduces notable design changes, finished in Verde Costiera. In the front, there is no traditional presence of a grille. Instead, there is a small black fascia running through the lower edges of the frunk, with integrated headlights and DRLs, as seen on the Ferrari F80 and 12 Cilindri.
The rear windshield blends with the rear lip spoiler. The bumper features a large diffuser with quad exhaust tips. The mid-engined grand tourer features 20-inch alloy rims 245/35 section tyres in the front and 285/35 section tyres in the rear.
It’s worth mentioning that the name Amalfi comes from the Amalfi Coast.
Interior
The interior showcases a dual cockpit layout. The dashboard has a monolithic layout with the instrument cluster and air vents being integrated into a single block. The most notable highlight is the removal of haptic buttons on the steering wheel in favour of the physical buttons.
Features
The iconic physical start/stop button has made a return on the Amalfi. There is a 15.6-inch driver’s display, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, and an 8.8-inch passenger display. The Amalfi comes equipped with wireless charging, wireless android auto, and apple carplay.
Additionally, a 1200W 14-speaker Burmester premium sound system can also be optioned.
Engine
The same 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 powers the Ferrari Amalfi. It produces 635 HP and 760 NM of torque. The engine pairs with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
This allows the Amalfi to sprint from 0-100 Km/hr in just 3.3 seconds, up to a top-speed of 320 Km/hr.
Safety Features
Ferrari equips the Amalfi with safety features like ADAS, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning. Other safety features include automatic high beam, traffic sign recognition, driver drowsiness detection, surround view and rear cross traffic alert.
Outlook
The Ferrari Roma had received criticism regarding the lack of feel of a Ferrari and more of a Jaguar F-Type or Mercedes-AMG GT. It remains to be seen whether the complaints from Roma have been rectified, and the Amalfi can deliver the experience that the prancing horse deserves.
