Royal Enfield Scram 440 Bookings & Sales Restarted
Royal Enfield has restarted selling the Scram 440. The brand had suspended the adventure tourer to solve a minor technical issue. The company is yet to announce the fix officially; however, the brand has commenced the sales and bookings of the Scram 440.
Reason Behind Halted Sales
Royal Enfield halted the bookings and sales of the Scram 440 in the first week of May, 2025. This happened because of a faulty component, not allowing the bike to start after prolonged usage. Notably, this wasn’t a safety issue, and the customers didn’t complain about stalling the scrambler.
The Royal Enfield Scram 440 struggled to start, especially after prolonged usage and in certain conditions. Before the announcement, about 2% of the delivered units were affected, and the following bikes were recalled to the authorised service centre for a fix.
Engine
The Scram 440 is powered by a 443cc air and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine. It produces 25.4 HP at 6250 RPM and 34 NM of torque at 4000 RPM. The engine mates with a 6-speed gearbox.
Brakes & Wheels
The adventure tourer has 19-inch wheels at the front and 17-inch wheels at the rear with the option of alloys or wire-spoked, depending on the variant. There is a single disc braking setup at both ends with switchable dual-channel ABS. The Scram 440 gets a 15-litre fuel tank, 796mm seat height and a weight of 196 Kg.
