FCA has revealed the first images of the Fiat Argo for the Brazilian market. The Argo is the long-overdue successor to the Fiat Punto that was launched back in 2005.

The Fiat Argo has been designed and developed in Brazil. The sculpted bonnet, aggressive looking headlamps with LED light guides make the hatch look stylish. Factor in the maroon highlight on the lower bumper, contrasting grey ORVMs, rear spoiler, precision-cut alloys, and a chrome-tipped trapezoidal exhaust, all these give the car a sporty appeal.

Fiat hasn’t revealed the interior images, but courtesy the spy photographers, an image of the instrument panel and the AC vents has been leaked. The hatch features a large colour multi-function display, 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, Uconnect infotainment system with a freestanding display, paddle shifters and cruise control too.

The Fiat Argo is reported to get 1.0-litre FireFly, 1.3-litre FireFly and 1.8-litre EtorQ Evo flex-fuel units. The 1.0-litre FireFly 3-cylinder unit produces 72 HP and 102 Nm of torque (petrol powered), 77 HP and 107 Nm of torque (ethanol powered) and will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.3-litre FireFly 4-cylinder unit produces 101 HP and 134 Nm of torque (petrol powered), 109 HP and 139 Nm of torque (ethanol powered). Fiat will offer this engine with a 5-speed manual as well as a 5-speed Dualogic AMT.

The top of the line 1.8-litre EtorQ Evo will produce a 135 HP and 184 Nm of torque (petrol powered), 139 HP and 189 Nm of torque (ethanol powered). This engine too will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed a automatic transmission.

The Fiat Argo is expected to go on sale in Brazil in June, but Fiat hasn’t announced any plans of launching it in other countries.
